Maddie Gardner

“My career path wasn’t exactly straightforward – from space engineering to competitive rowing, I tried a lot of different things before finding WP3. I joined as the first graduate, knowing almost nothing about Building Services, but I was drawn in by the people and the energy of the company. What keeps me here is the fast pace, the variety of projects, and the fact that every day brings a new challenge. I’m especially proud of projects like Barnfield College and Leeds Bradford Airport, and of being part of the team that’s helped grow the Belfast office.”

“I started out in technical drawing before moving into CAD, Revit, and eventually BIM and digital delivery. Over time, I realised that great design only really works when teams collaborate well – and that’s what drives me. What attracted me to WP3 was the culture and the genuine focus on doing things properly. I really value the trust and support within the team. I’m most proud of helping projects and people run more smoothly, whether that’s improving workflows or supporting others as they grow and gain confidence.”

“I came into Building Services from an Aerospace Engineering background, so it was a big change of direction – but one I’m really glad I made. From the very start at WP3, I felt welcomed and encouraged to get involved in real project delivery, which made learning the industry so much easier. What I enjoy most is the variety of work and the chance to collaborate with so many different people across the team. Seeing a major project like Leeds Bradford Airport come together has been a real highlight for me.”

“After studying mechanical engineering and taking a few different career paths, I found my way back into engineering at WP3 and progressed from design into commissioning management, where I’m now a Commissioning Lead at WP3. I was drawn to the company’s ambition, client-focused approach and close-knit culture, and I really enjoy being part of a team that’s always looking to improve how we work. I’m especially proud of my role on the Aldgate Place project, a complex large-scale development, and of supporting younger team members as they grow into confident commissioning managers.”
