Global Switch London North consisted of the retrofit of the former Financial Times printing works which first opened for data centre use in the height of the “dot-com” boom in late 1999.

Working closely with the client and senior management teams, WP3 delivered commissioning management services across multiple phases within the campus, starting with the 2.5MW North 1.2 Phase project comprising of 3no Data Halls, and followed by the London East facility L4 & L5 schemes consisting of 4no data halls at a total of 13.7MW. After delivering these phases for the client within a CxA capacity, we were appointed to undertake further phases within the Global Switch London campus as the hands on CxM responsible for managing day-to-day testing and commissioning activities, orchestrating MEP vendors and specialist contractors and overall delivery of L1-L5 phases through to final completion. Our role included the management and delivery of heat load and IST activities, and verification of all final O&M documentation, with stringent reviews, workshops and sign off sessions closely managed throughout.

Utilising our CxAlloy commissioning software to create and verify scripts and sign off checklists, along with live client reporting and full-time witnessing attendance, we were able to provide our clients with unrivalled assurance and full transparency with regards to day-to-day events and overall project progress. From Factory Testing attendance, design reviews, creation of project sign off requirements, process implementation, and through to testing, witnessing and verification stages, WP3 maintained consistent delivery and hands on consulting at all times. Playing a key part in making a data centre come to life, and being instrumental in the organisation, planning and execution of all commissioning activities is what we do best at WP3!
