With the delivery of the project in trouble, WP3’s expertise were requested to focus the project team approach to close out the works. We reviewed designs & project intent and all activities & progress to date before developing detailed programmes, commissioning plans and risk trackers to achieve a structured and quality completion. Within a brief period, a noted improvement in progress and quality was achieved through our input.
Being a financial institution, disruption to power supply or other services on site was unacceptable, and as such project works required our meticulous planning to ensure no impact on operation.
As the works complete, we attended site frequently to review and report on progress and quality. We attended commissioning activities to ensure technical and contractual compliance, developing trackers to ensure an efficient and transparent resolution of any snags or issues identified.
Further specific activities included:
- Method statement and permit review to ensure works are safe, well planned and compliant
- Review and coordination of contractors proposed switching sequences to assess the impact on the clients’ network
- Assisting with main contractor HV audit to ensure safe working practices
- Developing an interface schedule between the HV/LV/DC operation and the BMS so that the client has visibility over power generation and usage
