In a very short period, we were able to pick up previous designs by various consultants and modify them to meet strict tender deadlines. We not only identified and resolved scope gaps but proactively took the opportunity to rationalise designs to reduce costs for the client.
A critical element of the initial brief was to develop an integrated but intuitive ‘smart building’ control system. Utilising our experience in intelligent building design we partnered with the AV provider to developed a system that linked building services (from heating through to lighting control) with all other aspects of the project, including AV, blind control and intercom/security.
With sustainability at the forefront of the clients requirements we integrated several technologies into the design in a cost effective manner, including electric vehicle charging and air source heat pump heating & hot water.
Our role continued after the main contractor was appointed, acting as the client’s representative reviewing technical submittals, drawings, coordination and quality as the install progressed.
We worked with local utility providers to organise new and upgraded connections to the site, again with a focus on the tight programme.
