WP3 were employed as independent commissioning managers to oversee the setting to work of existing and new MEP systems at Tower Place on behalf of Marsh McLennan as part of their extensive refurbishment works.

The site, incorporating two towers located adjacent to the iconic Tower of London, underwent a major 20 year lifecycle refurbishment. WP3 programmed, planned, oversaw and managed the commissioning of newly installed services and significant retained/refurbished systems.

The project incorporated an underfloor air distribution system for ventilation and cooling, requiring WP3 to inspect workmanship and manage quality, as well as conduct pressure and integrity testing of floor voids to BSRIA standards to ensure performance of the system.

With several phases of handover, the programming of commissioning activities was crucial to the success of the project. We successfully managed the sequencing of activities to ensure floors were safe, functional and ready for handover, complete with building control inspections and sectional signoff. This also required maintaining service to previously handed over sections whilst subsequent works were being completed.

To streamline the documentation and handover process we utilised Facility Grid, providing clear and simple reporting and a record of commissioning and training activities.
