WP3 were employed to complete a detailed validation of existing installed services at Tower Place on behalf of Marsh McLennan ahead of their extensive refurbishment works.
This site, incorporating two towers located adjacent to the iconic Tower of London, was approaching a major 20 year lifecycle refurbishment. With both budget and sustainability at the core of the project, WP3 approached the validations from an engineering perspective to make considered recommendations to the project team as to which of the aging services could be sensibly and efficiently retained.
Critical to the success of the project, we conducted extensive testing of the existing underfloor air distribution system to BSRIA guidelines to ensure that the system could be recommissioned to function effectively again.
Providing more than a basic ‘read-and-record’ service, WP3 incorporated a design review in conjunction with the measurement exercise to validate not only the existing services but the design that had been produced. This benefitted the project, greatly de-risking the construction programme and cost.
The success of this validation exercise lead to WP3 being appointed as independent commissioning managers for the subsequent fitout project.
